The FAA has released guidelines for application for Special Issuance with Insulin Dependent Diabetes for First and Second class medicals.  Here are the preliminary requirements:

-continuous glucose monitoring for 6 months

-endocrinology report from an endocrinologist

-eye evaluation from an ophthalmologist

-cardiac risk evaluation from a cardiologist
